A volunteer and her dog ❤️

This is one of our volunteers, Barbara, and her dog Winnie at New Smyrna Beach, Florida.

Barbara, who has been volunteering at the shelter for almost nine years, adopted beautiful Winnie from the Clinton County Humane Society in the spring of 2023.

Our shelter runs on volunteer power! We have about 35 longtime volunteers like Barbara, who give their spare time to help find forever homes for the homeless pets in our area. We would not exist without them!

This photo is so precious!

This pup is well loved already!

We received the following update on Greyson (now renamed Helios, as he was born during the eclipse).

"He is doing great. He is shy and a little timid, but he is adjusting well. He is a huge goofball, and a thief, haha. He just wants to arrange the objects he gathers (shoes, socks, a pair of jeans, a backpack, all of the dog toys, etc.) around his dog bed and then look at them. It is pretty funny to watch. He is getting along great with our other dog, Mazikeen. I foresee them getting into some trouble together in the future, haha.

"He has become quite the popular pup, stealing the hearts of people at the pet store, my children's daycare, and the park.

"Thank you so much for allowing Helios to become a part of our family."

Thank you for adopting Helios from the Clinton County Humane Society!

'Since day one he’s been very friendly'

This is Gingersnap, formerly named Marvin, who was adopted a couple weeks ago. His family sent us this update:

"Since day one he’s been very friendly and confident. He came home and immediately began exploring the rooms.

"Gingersnap is bonding with our cat Fig. They play catch several hours a day.

"We are very happy with the adoption.

"Thank you!

"I attached a photo of him napping with his sister Fig and napping near my husband while he was using his computer."

Thank you for adopting Gingersnap from the Clinton County Humane Society!

'Thanks for our new baby! We love him!'

This is Chase, formerly known as Gage. His new family said he is doing great!

"He and Cali, our 1-year-old Cockapoo, are getting along famously!

"She’s in charge, of course. He doesn’t want to play quite as much as she does, but he loves trying to keep up! The cats all have their own relationship with him. He lets them lead the way. He’s fascinated with them! He’s doing well with the potty training. I think he’s happy!

"Thanks for our new baby! We love him!"

Thank you for adopting him from the Clinton County Humane Society!

So glad the Google search paid off!

Chubby was adopted earlier this month after he’d arrived at our shelter via a local backyard breeder.

Soon after the adoption, his new humans told us, “Chubby is a bundle of energy — that is for sure — and very affectionate.”

Now named Kreutz, he lives in Michigan with a couple other huskies and a German shepherd. Kreutz is loyal and fun-loving with other animals.

He enjoys car rides (once he is coaxed into the car), playing chase, walks with his friends, and stealing — then shredding — dog toys.

Kreutz's family has definitely changed his life for the better, and we are thankful that their Google search brought them to Wilmington, Ohio, to adopt this gorgeous husky!

Thank you for adopting from the Clinton County Humane Society!

'He's a wonderful dog!!!'

This handsome boy, Luka, was adopted as a puppy in June (his shelter name was Pachino).

Since then, his family has showered him with love and affection. Luka has learned to co-exist with the vacuum cleaner and is rewarded with trips to the dog park in Loveland.

His family told us, "Luka is doing great! He’s 6 months now and weighs 56 pounds. He’s a wonderful dog!!!"

We are so grateful to Luka's family for taking great care of him and for adopting him from the Clinton County Humane Society!

'We wouldn't trade him for the world!'

This is Achilles, formerly Kit, who was adopted in December 2023 and now lives in Illinois, where he enjoys chillin' on the couch.

His family told us: "Achilles turned one at the end of September. He is such a good boy. He definitely is a protector, but once he gets to know you he loves on you all the time. Just a quick update. Thank you for the opportunity to adopt him. We wouldn't trade him for the world!"

Thank you for adopting Achilles from the Clinton County Humane Society!
