Pups help students de-stress at Wilmington College

The Activities Planning Board at Wilmington College invited us to help students enjoy some dog-centric de-stress time on campus Tuesday.

In return, the pups of the Clinton County Humane Society enjoyed having a day out of the shelter — getting exercise, socialization, and snuggles!

Thanks to Rachel Berry and all of APD for this opportunity. 💚🤍

And thanks to the Wilmington High School varsity softball team for taking time on spring break to help with transport and dog-wrangling.

A huge thank-you to Alkermes for the donation drive!

A huge thank-you goes out to Alkermes, a biopharmaceutical company in Wilmington whose employees held a donation drive and fundraisers, including raffles for prize baskets they made and a Cutest Pet Contest with 86 entries, all to benefit the Clinton County Humane Society. ❤️

Yesterday the pictured employees visited our facility to deliver the donations of very necessary supplies (paper towels, Libman mop heads, Dawn dish soap, Pill Pockets, and trash bags) — as well as a big check for $1,282, which will really help us provide care and medical treatment to homeless pets! 🙌🏼

They got to meet some of the adoptable pets, including the adorable (& adoptable) puppy in the photograph, Brooklyn.

Multiple Alkermes employees have become longtime volunteers at the shelter over the years. 🐾

'They think they are lap dogs too!'

These two beautiful siblings were adopted as puppies in April and May 2023. Initially named Leon and Lexi, they’re now known as Kody and Bailey. And they are doing really well in their loving home!

Their family told us: “We just celebrated their 1st birthday on Feb 1! They are doing great and have grown so much! They love playing constantly and giving kisses! They think they are lap dogs too!"

Happy birthday to Kody and Bailey! And thank you for adopting from the Clinton County Humane Society!

'We are so blessed to have found her'

Those three little words we love to hear: Healthy, happy, and spoiled.💘

An update from this gorgeous pup’s family:

“Grace is still doing amazing, and we couldn't imagine life without her. She and her sister are inseparable. I'm guessing she's around 9 months old now. Healthy, happy, and spoiled —just like she deserves. She's growing fast and is nearly 60 pounds already.

“What an amazing soul. We are so blessed to have found her.”

Thank you for adopting Grace from the Clinton County Humane Society!

'She is such a good girl'

Happy 1st birthday to adorable Avery! 🎂

Avery's family told us: “We adopted her back on April 22nd she was exactly 2 months old. She is such a good girl and well behaved — and a big daddy's girl, lol.”

Thank you for adopting Avery from the Clinton County Humane Society!

Trixie is enjoying a quick Power Nap

This is Trixie (formerly Jolly), crashed on the couch with her very own toy and her very own blanket and her very own pink-striped sweater.

Trixie’s new family sent us this update to let us know how she’s doing: “She played hard with her new big brother and decided to cuddle up for a quick power nap! We are so grateful to you for bringing this beautiful little fur baby into our lives today!!”

Thank you for adopting from the Clinton County Humane Society!

'They’re not the only ones whose lives you’re touching'

Thanks again to Amy's Pet Grooming for making a stray pup look her best, helping her attract many applications and finding her an amazing family!

This is Jazzy, now called June/Junie/Junebug.

Her family told us June "sits on command, hasn’t had one accident in her crate (and only a handful in the house), responds to her name and comes running gleefully, has accepted the baby as a litter mate, happiest when underfoot, and is *delightfully* snuggly.

"Thank you for choosing us. I know it can’t be easy, hoping the best for the animals you no doubt get attached to, but they’re not the only ones whose lives you’re touching.❤️"

Thank YOU for adopting June from the Clinton County Humane Society! And thanks to Amy's for their amazing support!
