What a handsome face — and happy ending!

Named Zen at our shelter, he's now Bluester. And look at those beautiful blue eyes!
His owners emailed us: "Thought we would share some pictures of Bluester — we call him our gently giant. He gets along with everyone. Claus, our other Samoyed, and him play so hard together. They love to run as fast as they can in the back yard.
"He’s got a mischievous streak sometimes — likes to occasionally dig holes to see what's there, loves to move things when no one is looking, loves to play with sticks, and stalk the squirrels.
"He’s such a great boy! Thank you for helping him become a member of our family!"

Thank YOU for adopting from the Clinton County Humane Society!

Love this letter from Fernie the Cat

We got an update from Fernie the Cat!

"Hi guys, Fernie here. I just wanted to let you know I love my new home and my adoptive parents. They even gave me a sister. She can be a little moody, but I think we will get along fine.
"I don’t like that they put me back on dry food, but I do need to lose weight, so I'll get used to it. I have all the toys I want, and even a cool water fountain to drink from.
"Well, I think it's time to get my belly rubbed, so I gotta go.
Love,
Fernie"

Fernie, please thank your people for adopting you from the Clinton County Humane Society!

Ginger has grown up since we last saw her

Ginger was adopted in September 2018. At the time, she just weighed a few ounces, but now she is more than 9 pounds. Her family says Ginger is kind, gentle, and a little bit prissy. 😊

Thank you for adopting Ginger from the Clinton County Humane Society!

Ruth the kitten is an official 'snuggle bug'

Safe and secure in her new home in time for Mother's Day, gorgeous Ruth the kitten settled in quickly, with head-to-toe licks from the family's dog and gushing love from the toddler.
Ruth, a "snuggle bug," has claimed her human mama as hers, shoulder-sleeping in pure bliss.
We know Ruth (named Sasha at the shelter) will always be loved and cherished by her forever family, and we are grateful that they chose to adopt from our shelter!

Thank you for adopting from the Clinton County Humane Society!

Thor makes it easy to forget about work

Adopted April 23, Thor (named Ross at the shelter) has caused his new family to fall completely in love.
His family told us: "He has my husband and I wrapped around his little paws. He is the best cuddler, loves to help paint with his dad, and is the cutest little thing. Oh, and he has the biggest personality! Needless to say, my husband and I love our newest addition!"

Thank you for adopting Thor from the Clinton County Humane Society!

Kroger Community Rewards helps us with every purchase

One of the ways in which we do this is through our Kroger Community Rewards program. Go to www.krogercommunityrewards.com.
This program makes fundraising easy by donating to local organizations based on the shopping you do every day. Once you link your Card to an organization, all you have to do is shop at Kroger and swipe your Shopper’s Card. Here’s how it works:

1. Create a digital account.

A digital account is needed to participate in Kroger Community Rewards. If you already have a digital account, simply link your Shopper’s Card to your account so that all transactions apply toward the organization you choose.

2. Link your Card to an organization.

Selecting the organization that you wish to support is as simple as updating the Kroger Community Rewards selection on your digital account.

1. Sign in to your digital account.

2. Search for your organization here.

3. Enter the name or NPO number of the organization you wish to support.

4. Select the appropriate organization from the list and click “Save”.

Your selected organization will also display in the Kroger Community Rewards section of your account. If you need to review or revisit your organization, you can always do so under your Account details.

3. Your organization earns.

Any transactions moving forward using the Shopper’s Card number associated with your digital account will be applied to the program, at no added cost to you. Kroger donates annually to participating organizations based on your percentage of spending as it relates to the total spending associated with all participating Kroger Community Rewards organizations.

If you have any questions, please contact our Customer Service Center.

Whether you’re a customer or an organization, get started today!

Note: If you are a customer, make sure you have a preferred store selected to view participating organizations. If you are applying on behalf of an organization, please select a store in the same area as your organization.

During the stay-at-home orders in Ohio, limited veterinary availability for spays/neuters has greatly increased our costs, but we are still committed to reducing the numbers of homeless pets in our area.
So we are extremely grateful to the PEDIGREE Foundation, which awarded us a $1,500 grant to assist us with our increased costs during the pandemic.
Thank you, Pedigree! 🐹🐱🐹🐱🐹🐱🐹🐱🐹🐱

Formed in 2008 by the makers of PEDIGREE® food for dogs, PEDIGREE Foundation is an independent 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to helping dogs in need find loving homes by supporting the good work of shelters and dog rescue organizations throughout the country. Through no fault of their own, more than 3.3 million dogs end up in shelters and rescue organizations every year, and nearly half of them never find a place to call home. For more information on how you can support the foundation visit www.pedigreefoundation.org.

Tank is a handsome boy who lavishes affection on the humans he meets at the Clinton County Humane Society. Unfortunately, 4-year-old Tank had an enlarged prostate when he arrived at our shelter. Poor guy was urinating blood.
The veterinarian said because of his health issue Tank had likely been in a terrible amount of pain — when he got to us and in his prior life chained outside.
Now, after his neuter surgery, antibiotics, and pain medication, Tank is feeling great. His urine is clear and he has a good attitude.
The additional cost of $450 comes at a time when donations are more precious than ever, so we are asking for your help to cover the unexpected expense. If you can only donate a few dollars, it can add up really quickly.
Also, we have had a great deal of kittens lately, so if you’re able to drop off a bag of cat litter (any inexpensive brand), please do so on our covered front porch at 1760 Fife Ave. in Wilmington.
Thank you for supporting the homeless animals in our area!

You can donate via PayPal on our website (there's a link on the right of the page), or there's a fundraiser on our Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/ClintonCountyHumaneSocietyOhio/

Sweet and smart Dolly

Dolly was adopted two and a half years ago and been well loved ever since. We are so grateful to her family for taking such great care of Dolly, who is such a smart girl.

We love this photo of her — reminds us of the senior photos being posted lately on Facebook. 😄 We think Dolly would have been valedictorian.
