Please help us with Xena's surgery costs

Meet Xena, a brave and loving 12-week-old puppy who was found as a stray with a heartbreaking injury to her right rear leg. We believe she is a mix of poodle and Schnauzer, and while she’s had a rough start in life, her sweet spirit shines through.

Xena’s leg was badly broken — it is believed she was kicked, causing the type of break she sustained. The situation is heartbreaking, but we are doing everything we can to give this brave girl the future she deserves. X-rays confirmed the severity of the injury and that her leg had been broken for quite some time. Without immediate intervention, this injury would have caused Xena lifelong pain and mobility issues.

After hours of surgery, Xena’s femur was successfully stabilized with a pin. The road to recovery will take time and patience. Over the next few months, she will need to rest in order to allow her bone to heal properly. Despite the challenges, we are hopeful that with proper care, Xena will heal wonderfully and be able to live the healthy, active life she deserves.

Currently in foster care, Xena is an incredibly outgoing puppy who loves people and is full of life. She’s eager to find her forever home and will be ready for adoption in 3 to 6 weeks once her recovery is well under way.

The cost of Xena’s surgery and ongoing medical care is significant, between $1,800 to $2,000, so we are reaching out to our community for help.

Can you help us give Xena the chance she deserves? Your donations will go directly toward covering the costs of her surgery, recovery, and ongoing care. No contribution is too small—every dollar brings us closer to giving Xena the healthy, happy life she deserves.

Thank you for your kindness and support. Together, we can help Xena heal and find her forever home.

'He was spoiled for Christmas'

Brock could already sell calendars — he is such a star! 🤩

“He is truly the sweetest, snuggliest, snore-iest boy,” his new family told us. “His favorite thing to do is cuddle and often ends up in the funniest positions. He also LOVES toys and will collect them one-by-one until he’s surrounded by them. He was spoiled for Christmas (and every day, really). Choosing photos to send was the hardest part because he’s constantly doing something photo-worthy!”

Thank you for adopting Brock from the Clinton County Humane Society!

Enjoy the snow, Kash!

❄️We had an extraordinary number of arctic dogs/puppies this year, so it is extra rewarding to not only see them in their loving homes but see them enjoy this snowy, cold weather of late.

This is Kash, formally Sterling. ❄️

His family told us that Kash “is living his best life — he sure is loved! 🥰 We just love him!”

Thank you for adopting from the Clinton County Humane Society!

'We are so in love with him'

This gorgeous pup (named Hendrix at the shelter) was adopted December 7, so he was able to have a home for the holidays!

His new family told us: “He perked up on our ride home as he saw a Bluey Christmas decoration and ended up really responding anytime we talked about it, so he pretty much picked his name. 😆

“He is having a blast, and we are so in love with him. Bluey and his new older sister are the best of friends and inseparable now. He absolutely loves walks with her. Thank you so much for allowing us to give him a home — we couldn’t imagine it without him now!”

Thank YOU for adopting Bluey from the Clinton County Humane Society!

'They are glued together most of the time'

This is Linda, on the left. She is a beautiful, happy girl. She was adopted in May 2023, and she and Melvin the boxer became fast friends.

Their family told us: “They are glued together most of the time — we were so lucky to adopt her.”

Thank you for adopting Linda from the Clinton County Humane Society!
